Most affordable gold jewelry is brass with a whisper of gold on top — which is why it fades in weeks. Most of our gold pieces are plated over a stainless-steel core instead, so there is nothing to react with your skin. Our silver is solid S925. And some designs are plated over brass, alloy or copper — warmer and heavier, but they need to stay dry. Every product page says which one you are buying.

Will it fade or turn my skin green?
Most of our gold pieces are plated over a stainless-steel core, so there is no brass or copper to react with your skin. If a gold-plated steel piece fades within 100 days of delivery, we replace it free. Our silver pieces are solid S925 sterling, which will not turn your skin green either — sterling does darken slowly over time, and a soft polishing cloth brings it back. Some designs are plated over brass, copper or alloy instead; those are marked on the product page and are not covered by the 100-day guarantee.
Can I wear it in the shower or the ocean?
Gold-plated steel pieces: yes. Water, sweat, soap, chlorine and salt water are all fine — rinse with fresh water afterwards and dry with a soft cloth. Sterling silver, pearl, brass, copper and alloy pieces are better kept out of pools and the sea, and stored dry between wears.
How fast does it ship?
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and typically arrive in 6–10 business days, with tracking on every parcel. Shipping is free on orders over $75; below that it is a flat $4.99, or $7.99 for insured delivery.
Will I be charged customs or import fees?
No. Import duties are covered before the parcel reaches you, so the price at checkout is the price you pay. If you are ever asked for an import fee on a Verlyn order, email us the receipt and we refund it in full.
Is it hypoallergenic?
Our stainless steel and titanium steel pieces are, and sterling silver suits most sensitive skin. Stainless steel is nickel-free and is the same material used for medical implants and piercing jewelry. The brass, copper and alloy designs are not hypoallergenic and say so on the product page. If you have a known metal allergy, patch-test as you would with any new jewelry.
What are the stones?
Brilliant-cut cubic zirconia on most pieces, plus natural freshwater pearl, mother-of-pearl, tiger's eye and coloured enamel. Because pearl and shell are natural, each piece varies slightly from the photograph. A small number of earrings use man-made imitation pearl, and those product pages say so. We do not sell mined diamonds and we never describe our stones as diamonds.
I do not know her size — can I still buy?
Yes. Necklaces, earrings and bracelets need no size at all, and most of our rings and cuffs are open bands that adjust to any finger or wrist. Look for «adjustable» on the product page. And if it still is not right, she can return it unworn within 30 days for a full refund.

Return anything unworn within 30 days for a full refund of the item price. Email us and we send you the return details — no explanation needed. Return postage is yours unless the piece arrived faulty or we sent the wrong thing, and for orders under $75 we usually refund without asking you to send anything back at all.
